Motivation Level: Zero
I think I may have officially gotten senioritis. Did I ever claim that I wasn’t going to get seniorits? Well, that was a lie. I have senioritis. I understand senioritis. I am senioritis.
For those of you who have not yet experienced senioritis yet, let me give you a brief overview. The first symptoms are lethargy, an unwillingness to do work, and a desire to sleep and hang out with your pets 99% of the time. Sounds like you? Let’s continue.
Next you start to feel a general resentment towards your school, mainly aimed at the teachers and administration. You begin to wonder why you are even in high school, why you have to take meaningless classes, and why you can’t just up and graduate already. Still matches your feelings about the world? We progress.
You complain about everything. Too sunny? Complain. Water bottle not within arms reach? Complain. Two tests this week? Complain. You fantasize about graduation. You romanticize your first few days of college. You think about the rest of your life, or what it means to be alive, or who you really are, or what you want to do with your life, or you memorize a poem just to take your mind off of your current situation.
Check check and check? Welcome to the game, baby. It’s procrastination time.
