QUIZLET IS THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME.
I KNOW, RIGHT? It is seriously amazing. If you guys are bored of flash cars or have anything to memorize hop on that.
Anonymous asked: do you go to an all-girls school? also, any tips for learning french more quickly? i started this year & i'm only in level 2. i don't really want to continue in college because there are other classes i want to take more but i want to become fluent in the language. if you have any tips, i'd really appreciate them!

Back from MUN
I’m exhausted, up to my neck in homework, getting sick, not motivated to do any work….. sound familiar?
I know I said I had work and wouldn’t post last week but this week I actually probably won’t post. If I do, it will be on Thurs/Fri.
SPRING BREAK STARTS IN 5 DAYS!!! I only have to get through 5 days of madness to reach it. AH!!!

I kind of want to see if anyone can find me at my MUN conference and I’ve been thinking about various code phrases to check each other’s identities all day.

Just found out I won't have internet this weekend.
Gr8. Maybe I’ll queue a post tonight? Maybe I’ll write a post tonight AND queue a post tonight?
Debatable.
I got this?
I woke up at 5:30 today to finish my Gov reading/studying after going to bed at 12. Considering I’m usually an 11 and 7:15 kind of girl, I’m anxious to see how this pans out.
I didn’t get to study at all for MUN yesterday but I’m hoping I might get something in tonight - although, my Thursday and Wednesday schedules are switched around (bummer) so I’ll have a lot of...

Posting this week? Hahahahaha.... yeah. No.
Um I have a MUN conference on Fri/Sat/Sun and a Gov test and my night class and a math quiz and some English makeup work…
Plus I need to get ahead because lord knows I’m not going to be able to do any work at the conference.
If anyone does MUN hit me up. I suck at parli pro. Also: if you know anything about Belgium. Or sex selection. Or disabled people and the government. Preferably...

Running Theme (?): 24 Hours in the Life
I had someone ask me about life at boarding school earlier in the year and I thought that it would be a good idea to just do “24 hours in the life” whenever I have an interesting few days instead of just listing aspects of boarding school life. ALSO: if you are looking for a good creepy way to take your mind off of your college acceptance letters, here it is.
Thursday, 730 - pack...
me: I'm gonna study when I get home
me: I'll just study before I go to bed
me: I'll just study in the morning
me: I'll just study on the way to school
me: I'll just study in this class
me: I'll just study in the hall
me: I'll just study before the test
me: I'll just study during the test
Going to a major art museum tomorrow!
I won’t tell you which one for fear you’ll guess the state / area I’m in (lolz as if you haven’t already) but OMG YOU GUYS. FIELD TRIPPPPPP!
Edit: I have like 3x as much homework tonight though. Just realized that…

Unhappy Crazy Rant Time
Fair warning: me complaining. Lots of self-pity. Plain and simple.

Thank you people who recently followed me! Sorry we’re starting off our everlasting friendship on such a shitty note!
Alright you guys time to get real: about 87 crazy things are happening. A bunch of people in my school got in trouble for some stuff, one of my friends is acting really strange and we’re all worried about her, I have two acapella performances this week and an all...

Senioritis pt. 2
So you thought you had senioritis. You thought that the lack of motivation, general malcontent, etc. etc. was the worst of it and, in time, it would wear down a bit and you would fall back into the rhythm of your schoolwork.
So nieve. You thought wrong. Now, in addition to nursing a growing coffee addiction (you thought you had that before, too, but you were wrong, again.), you also have to deal...

Hi Ho Oh No...
Today I did work during all of my frees. I just took a 1/2 hour coffee break and now it is… back to the grindstone.
John Green once wrote/said, “Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia.” This is a statement I completely agree with. And I’m suffering from that kind of nostalgia.
I keep imagining this summer - maybe working, doing cool nerdy things, learning new skills,...

So I stupidly signed up for a night class,
and it makes me wonder: how far should high schools go to prepare you for college? I know that my school is a “college prep” school and therefore tries to hold themselves to some sort of “higher standard” - but night classes?
Aren’t AP classes that are actually at a grueling pace enough? On top of reading, all of my AP’s have other turn in project assignments,...
Quick to do list:
Read art history p. 497-517
Call parents
Study for gov test
Shower
It seems doable. I just need to suck it up and be productive! We’ll see…
Maybe I should try to come up with some motivational tips for powering through senioritis….
p.s. thank you to everyone who commented on my last ~angsty post! tytyty for your support :)

Fed Up
It is getting to that point of the year where I don’t want to hang out with any of my friends anymore. None of us seem to be getting along, and I’ve started hanging out with people I wouldn’t normally hang out with.
It’s put me in a tough situation, because I want to enjoy my last bits of time with them and celebrate the cusp adulthood, graduation, a coming of age (in...
Anonymous asked: be proud that you got into a good school, don't be shy to admit that you indeed is going to one of the best schools because in life, there will be many time people want to bring you down so if you tell others you're going to such a good school, they may not think you're stuck-up and conceited and may even be inspired to do well to attend such a school :)

"Is that a good school?"
I was speaking with a friend, and college came up (natch). She asked, and I told her I’m going to Williams. Her response was, “Oh… Is that a good school?”
My parents taught me that bragging isn’t attractive, but I’m damn proud to be going to Williams. Unsure of what to do, I hurriedly rattled off some facts, some lists it topped, and some comparable schools.

Time for a nap or maybe some therapy.
Fair warning: I don’t know what this is, but I warned you.
As I get more tired this becomes more of a running dialogue of my life. And I apologize for that. But at the same time I don’t because I’m constantly overwhelmed with this feeling that my life isn’t good enough or noticed or celebrated or even just clever.
And as I’m thinking about all of this I’m...
Running theme: I'm thinking about this summer...
As I always am, because it represents so much. And I was thinking about this blog. And I’m thinking about tweaking this blog so I can keep it, but maybe also doing some open courseware / “alternative” learning type deals over the summer.
We’ll see.

You know that squishy brained feeling?
Fair warning: brain dribble.
The one you get after you’ve just taken, let’s say, an AP Art History test? Your hand and arm hurt from writing, and your head feels like it has just been through the ringer. Focusing on your classes for the rest of the day becomes difficult, let alone homework.
Is this the feeling that comes before you get back a test you’ve aced? Is your brain...
Fair warning: complaining and angst.
So tired I can’t see straight.
Let me tell you, trying to master Meso-American, Islamic, and Gothic art all at the same time is fucking exhausting.
See you all on the flip side of my test.
Ugh.
Why.

Just finished reading all the art history chapters for my test. Now:
A 12 minute nap.
Hall bonding (shoooooooot me, there’d BETTER be food).
Possibly a shower. More studying.
A quick cleanup of the ‘ol dorm room.
Off to bed - aiming at an 11:30 head-on-pillow arrival time.
AP French first thing tomorrow and my AP Art History test after that. BUT my day ends at 1:10 tomorrow....
ughhhh
My hall decided to have a get together at 9:30. People, don’t you know I have a three chapter test to study for? Rhetorical question: I know you know because I told you.
Who the hell has time for a hall hangout sesh? I’m taking 3 AP classes over here, hello!

Evening plans + AP French:
Study for 3 chapter art history test
Pray that it doesn’t rain
Clean my room
French homework
I know this blog has about a zillion attitude shifts (hey I’m a stereotypical emotion driven teenager, yeah?) but here’s another one:
Why don’t I put more effort into AP French? I mean - like making flashcards and using them is THAT hard? Isn’t watching clips of French...

Running theme: I want to graduate pt. 3
Back at school from long weekend. In front of me is aprox. 50 pages (or more - I never claimed to be good at math.) of AP Art History reading I need to do for my test on Thursday.
All I can think about is how I don’t want to do any work and I don’t want to be here.
I need to inspire some sort of work streak or else. Honestly, though, I’m counting down the days until spring...

books--and--cleverness asked: There's this article I read in school last year as a reading called "The Organization Kid" that is kind of asking the same question you are. I thought it was really interesting, and you might as well. Just google the article name along with the name of the article's author, David Brooks, and you should find it.

So much empathy right now. It’s like I put my life on pause for the past four years.
Do you ever get worried that you’ll be stuck on the pause setting :/

books—and—cleverness answered your question: Is it worth it?
…Yeah, but I’m having a hard time articulating what, exactly, I let go.
I kind of just want to lump sum it and say “my childhood / teenage years” but I also feel like that’s a bit melodramatic
